LOCKDOWN DAILY PRAYER

In the last lockdown we were so blessed by daily videos of encouragement from church leaders across the city.

In this lockdown, we are inviting you to join with others around the city to pause and pray for 10 minutes at 6pm every weekday evening (starting from Monday 9th November).

There will be a led time of prayer on Zoom, run by different members of the Nottingham City Prayer team and other church leaders from around Nottingham.

The leader will share a short passage of scripture to help us focus, and then lead us into prayer.

The Zoom details will be the same every day.

We are doing this in response to the call that the Archbishops of Canterbury and York and Bishop of London made last week to pray for the nation throughout November.

We recognises that God is at work even through the difficult times, and we want to collaborate with Him.

The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it’s not only around us; it’s within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We’re also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don’t see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy. Romans 8.22-25 (Message)

Let’s look to be ‘enlarged in the waiting’ as God makes ‘these difficult times of pain’ useful in giving birth to his kingdom rule.
