NEW YEAR’S PRAYER GATHERINGS
We’ve met at a significant location in the city at the very start of the new year to pray for God’s Kingdom to come in the city since January 2018.
These are special evenings where we start the new year well as a united church in Nottingham.
In 2018 we met at The Council House in Market Square (symbolic of political authority in Nottingham).
In 2019 we met at St Mary’s in the Lace Market (Nottingham’s oldest place of continual Christian worship).
In 2020 we met at The Albert Hall, a building that was formerly the home of the Methodist Mission (symbolic of the spiritual renewal that we seek for Nottingham).
In 2021, rather than meeting in a significant location for an evening of prayer, we started the year with a 24-hour period of non-stop prayer.
In 2022 we met in-person once again at St Mary’s in the Lace Market - our prayers were fuelled by prophetic preaching from Rachel Hickson of Heartcry for Change
In 2023 we met at Trinity Church in the converted auction house on Mansfield Road. We heard of the prophetic words that had been spoken over that building, and the prayers that had been prayed over the auction house - so it was a joy to start the year seeing God’s word fulfilled, with a thriving church on that spot.
In 2024 we met at St Nic’s, crying out for the Lord to send the rain and to give us, His church, to have the eyes on faith to see the cloud on the horizon.
In 2025 we met at Woven St Margaret’s sought the King and offered ourselves and every part of our lives to Him, seeking to serve Him with purpose, for the sake of our neighbours and neighbourhoods.
NEW YEAR PRAYER GATHERING 2026
On 15th January 2026, we will meet at St Nic’s to mark the beginning of a new year.
Over the last 12 months, the Lord has encouraged us that He alone is the King, and He is ushering in a better Kingdom. He has spoken His delight over His Bride, the Church, choosing her and reminding her time and time again to abide in Him and from that place, we will bear fruit that both honours the Him and serves the city.
As we start 2026, we come open handed and open hearted, ready to receive what God has for us and attentive to what He is inviting us to lay down, that we may take hold of Him more fully. We will spend time worshipping God together, welcoming our King again, and praying for Nottingham, the suburbs and beyond, as we continue to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Hope you can join us on Jan 15th for this evening gathering.
